As expected, after morning classes, we were very warmly received by the students and staff of “Secundaria Tecnica #23.” This is equivalent to a vocational middle school; and it is one of the poorest school populations in the state of Morelos. The students toured us throughout their school, performed some wonderful dances for us, and then invited all of us to join in – adults and kids alike! We capped our visit with a snack and then a spirited soccer game :-)
We then went back into the center of Cuernavaca to visit the artisan market, and – yes – more shopping! We had dinner together where Miss Vava had a treat provided for her and we sang happy birthday. As we were running a bit late, we had to delay the round of treats for all - in honor of Miss indigo’s birthday - for another day. Finally, we returned to Encuentros for salsa dancing lessons! The girls stepped up with great rhythm and nice style; but frankly Ms. Ava stole the show with a top-notch dance number with the instructor – “arriba con la profesora”!
Tomorrow we spend the day at Ex Hacienda de Temixco Swimming Park.
